About Us

Morgan Morgan & Caroline Bleach embarked upon a career in care some twenty five years ago. Still in their twenties, with this desire, passion and the idea of creating a safe and pleasant environment to look after elderly residents, they purchased Denewood House. With a great deal of hard work in preparation and refurbishment, they opened the doors in 1989 to take in their first residents, after converting a residential dwelling to a care home providing that ‘home from home’ feeling not possible from larger commercial entities. In the early years Morgan and Caroline balanced a demanding life between work and bringing up their two children in a flat they had built which later was converted to accommodate extra residents rooms when they moved to their own accommodation whilst adding a larger extension around the millenium. Denewood House still retains that homely feel and highly motivated loyal staff support management to create a family atmosphere.

As a result of their ambition to create a care company providing a secure and safe place to live, Highgrove Care Home was acquired in 2004 at the same time as setting up ‘Samily Care’ a twist on their two children’s names, Sam & Emily, keeping to the family ethos.   Highgrove is run on the same basis as Denewood House again providing that ‘home from home’ feeling with kind and caring staff.

Dorset has a varied landscape featuring broad elevated chalk downs, steep limestone ridges and low-lying clay valleys. Over half the county is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and three-quarters of its coastline is a World Heritage Site that features notable landforms such as Lulworth Cove, the Isle of Portland, Chesil Beach and Durdle Door. Agriculture was traditionally the major industry of Dorset but is now in decline and tourism has become increasingly important to the economy. There are no motorways in Dorset but a network of A roads cross the county and two railway main lines connect to London. Dorset has ports at Poole,Weymouth and Portland and an international airport. The county has a variety of museums, theatres and festivals, and is host to one of Europe's largest outdoor shows. It is the birthplace of Thomas Hardy, who used the county as the principal setting of his novels, and William Barnes, whose poetry celebrates the ancient Dorset dialect.
